Head of Communications at Hamburg Commercial Bank switches to consulting role

Hamburg, May 28, 2020 - Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (HCOB) continues to streamline its structure as part of its multi-year transformation.

To this end, responsibility in the Communications business unit is also being reorganized. As of 1 June 2020, Mirko Wollrab, the current Head of Communications, will set up his own consultancy firm. In future, the press department will be headed by Katrin Steinbacher, who has been successfully working in the communications business unit of HCOB for many years. The press department will be integrated into the Strategy and Transformation business unit, which is headed by Daniel Roth and reports directly to the Bank’s CEO, Stefan Ermisch.

"We have shared a very successful journey with Mirko Wollrab, and one marked by great challenges. The privatization of the Bank at the end of 2018 certainly marks the most important milestone, but the repositioning of our Bank as Hamburg Commercial Bank is also one of the stand-out events. Mirko has played a major part in achieving these milestones, and I would like to thank him expressly, both on behalf of the Bank and personally. We wish Mirko great success on his path to independence and look forward to continuing to work with him as an external consultant on matters of communication of the Bank," said Stefan Ermisch, CEO of Hamburg Commercial Bank AG.
