Management Board member Roth recalled

Supervisory Board issues extraordinary notice of dismissal

Hamburg/Kiel, April 27, 2009 - Frank Roth has been relieved of his duties as a member of the Management Board of HSH Nordbank with immediate effect.

This was the decision taken by the Supervisory Board at its meeting today during which it declared an extraordinary termination of his contract of service. Furthermore, the Supervisory Board authorized its Chairman, Dr. Wolfgang Peiner, to lay criminal charges against Frank Roth.

This decision is HSH Nordbank’s reaction to the sufficient initial suspicion that Frank Roth made strictly confidential internal strategy documents available to third parties. Such unauthorized disclosure of business secrets is punishable under Article 404 of the German Stock Corporation Act.
