HSH Nordbank remains premium partner of Kieler Woche
New “Good for kids" supporter wristbands fundraising initiative
HSH Nordbank Race Repair Service assists the sailors
Hamburg/Kiel, May 19, 2015 - In 2015, HSH Nordbank will once again – for the twelfth consecutive year - take its place on the starting line as a premium partner of Kieler Woche.
HSH Nordbank and Kieler Woche together are continuing the charitable fundraising initiative "Good for kids" at the largest fun fair in the North. Over the past few years donations totalling EUR 100,000 have been collected through the sale of the blue supporter wristbands. This year the initiative will be expanded: For the first time, premium supporter wristbands will also be on sale.
This year the many generous donors who previously purchased several blue wristbands at a price of one euro each will be able to demonstrate their commitment with a new colour: at a price of ten euros the visitors to Kieler Woche will receive a black premium supporter wristband. These will be offered for sale together with the familiar blue bands at around 200 sales outlets during Kieler Woche.
"We have kept up the longest partnership with the world's biggest sailing sport event and will remain a strong and reliable partner for Kieler Woche and thus for our home region in the future", said Constantin von Oesterreich, CEO of HSH Nordbank. "At the same time, the desire to make sport and a team spirit something children and young people can experience during Kieler Woche is something close to our heart. With the charitable initiative we are making ourselves strong for kids in Kiel."
HSH Nordbank will this year again be supporting sailors from around the world with its Race Repair Service ("RRS"). The two RRS tenders will be deployed at the Kieler Förde and assist the sailors in the event of material problems or breakdowns. More than 4,000 top athletes from 50 nations in around 1,800 boats are expected at Kieler Woche 2015.
