HAMBURG – In its meeting on 17 August 2022, the Supervisory Board of Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (HCOB) acknowledged with approval the request of Stefan Ermisch (56), Chief Execu-tive Officer (CEO), not to extend his contract expiring at the end of 2023. Stefan Ermisch will remain Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of HCOB until 30 September 2022.

Hamburg Commercial Bank completes fiscal year 2021 with strong financial figures
Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) presented its final IFRS figures for fiscal year 2021 on Thursday and confirmed its net income before taxes of EUR 299 (previous year: 257) million as well as the other preliminary financial figures from February. The optimized balance sheet structure and the operating business contributed to the good result, as did positive loan loss provisions and noticeable cost reductions. Although the market environment continued to be dominated by the pandemic, the bank closed fiscal 2021 with excellent financial figures. The seamless switch to the Deposit Protection Fund of private banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken) took place as planned at the end of 2021.

HCOB, KfW IPEX-Bank, and Kommunalkredit arrange fibre optic financing
The Göttingen-based fibre-optic company goetel GmbH is continuing to expand its fibre-optic network in previously underserved rural regions. Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB), KfW IPEX-Bank and Kommunalkredit Austria AG (Kommunalkredit), together with an international bank consortium, are providing EUR 345 million for this purpose. A total of seven banks are involved in this project financing. HCOB, KfW IPEX-Bank and Kommunalkredit are acting as joint bookrunners and arrangers, in addition KfW IPEX-Bank is acting as agent.

Hamburg Commercial Bank finances infrastructure PPP project in Spain
Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) contributes EUR 60.5 million to a syndicated financing for the operation and maintenance of thirteen stations of the first section of Barcelona’s metro Line 9. An international banking group is providing the project company which operates “L9T1” with nearly EUR 600 million debt for the refinancing of the infrastructure project. The shareholders of the project company are funds managed by Vauban Infrastructure Partners and abrdn (formerly Aberdeen Infrastructure). In addition to the banking club, various international institutional investors are participating in the refinancing with a second tranche of approximately the same amount.
